Summary

Ghouls live among us, the same as normal people in every way—except their craving for human flesh。 Ken Kaneki is an ordinary college student until a violent encounter turns him into the first half-human half-ghoul hybrid。 Trapped between two worlds, he must survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers。

Things heat up in the Ward Eleven as the CCG investigates the high rate of Investigator deaths。 Kaneki has an explosive run-in with Aogiri Tree, the Ghoul Gang, run by a Ghoul known only as the Sekigan King。

This one had a lot of info-dumping and fluff。

Up to this point in the story, Sui Ishida has built the story world in which these characters inhabit, but it wasn't until this installment where the world got interesting。 There was a little bit more world building that was going on and it was done in a pretty way with the introduction of an eccentric new character, a dove on the hunt for ghouls, but most of this installment was just setting things up for what is building up to a great story。 There was a lot of action and some good intrigue as Up to this point in the story, Sui Ishida has built the story world in which these characters inhabit, but it wasn't until this installment where the world got interesting。 There was a little bit more world building that was going on and it was done in a pretty way with the introduction of an eccentric new character, a dove on the hunt for ghouls, but most of this installment was just setting things up for what is building up to a great story。 There was a lot of action and some good intrigue as shadows of stories yet to come sat on the periphery, but it was like reading the first act of a good movie, good but left you craving for the rest of the story。 I do think that this might be the turning point in the story that will take this series to a great and creative location which it had been missing up to this point。 I can't wait to see what happens next。 。。。more

This one had vital ghoul anatomy that wasn't mentioned in the anime。 Also there was a whole little subplot after Kaneki was kidnapped。 Hi sorry its thirsty Becca I had to mention the Bin brother with half his face exposed。 UM Yes 🥵😩👌🏻 This one had vital ghoul anatomy that wasn't mentioned in the anime。 Also there was a whole little subplot after Kaneki was kidnapped。 Hi sorry its thirsty Becca I had to mention the Bin brother with half his face exposed。 UM Yes 🥵😩👌🏻 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Ok, yeah, this hqs nothing to do with the anime now。 Or the other way around。 I am loving it specifically for that。 It makes more sense, things are explained and Aogiri axtually have clear hierarchy and rules。 It makes the whole camaraderie that Kaneki finds and the Jason thing worse, in the anime at least he is kidnapped and then tortured。 Here he went willingly to save his friends, not expecting whaf hapoens。 Damn。

。。。more

Continues to be a good series, and we get a Ghoul anatomy lesson with some explanations of kagunes and types。 It's still really good at making you question who to root for as well, though this one focuses more on ghouls than the CCG。 Continues to be a good series, and we get a Ghoul anatomy lesson with some explanations of kagunes and types。 It's still really good at making you question who to root for as well, though this one focuses more on ghouls than the CCG。 。。。more

3。5 stars!Still a fun read, but this one was a lot of info-dump。 It goes in to detail on what the different ghoul and human weapons are, introduces a bunch of new characters, and only a couple of fights happen。 It looks like it's setting the scene for more fun to come later though! 3。5 stars!Still a fun read, but this one was a lot of info-dump。 It goes in to detail on what the different ghoul and human weapons are, introduces a bunch of new characters, and only a couple of fights happen。 It looks like it's setting the scene for more fun to come later though! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was a good one and its the after effects of the last volume and serve as the ground for new characters as we learn about an organization named "Aogiri Tree" who are looking for Ken and have their own motives, they are Ghouls who think they should rule humans and kill the doves aka CCG officers easily and they are from 11th war and they take Ken and there are others like Banjo and all, and we have Ken disposed off and much of the volume is them seeing who these people are and their ruler One This was a good one and its the after effects of the last volume and serve as the ground for new characters as we learn about an organization named "Aogiri Tree" who are looking for Ken and have their own motives, they are Ghouls who think they should rule humans and kill the doves aka CCG officers easily and they are from 11th war and they take Ken and there are others like Banjo and all, and we have Ken disposed off and much of the volume is them seeing who these people are and their ruler One-eyed King and they plan to escape when the top officers are gone and when only the bin brothers are there and while they escape, there is a great battle and Ken in the pic but then Yamori, the crazed 13th ward ghoul agrees to let the others go if Ken becomes his subordinate? Its a cool volume and has lots of new characters and serves as a prologues to what maybe the 11th ward war? And also CCG is also looking in 11th ward and more officers join in meanwhile Anteiku also gathers others and plans a big resistance and we learn about the anatomy and types of Kagune and what is weak against what, its a volume with heavy exposition and serves as "world building" and introduces new threats and adds complexities and could be a tough read but overall is not bad, just heavy。 And the art was sketchy in this one though。 。。。more

3。5?I'm still enjoying this series, and this volume is where it really amps up to propel us into the next volume (which is the finale of the first season of the anime), but I think this felt a little fast-paced? The rest of the series sets up the characters, but they often feel set up and resolved so quickly I can't latch onto any of the storylines too deeply。 I'm looking forward to continue reading and hope the rest of the series is more streamlined from now on。 3。5?I'm still enjoying this series, and this volume is where it really amps up to propel us into the next volume (which is the finale of the first season of the anime), but I think this felt a little fast-paced? 2。5 - It was interesting to finally read something that hadn't been brought up in the anime (i。e。 the lead up to Kaneki's abduction and what he went through before Jason), buuut I couldn't care less about these CCG investigator scenes。 2。5 - It was interesting to finally read something that hadn't been brought up in the anime (i。e。 the lead up to Kaneki's abduction and what he went through before Jason), buuut I couldn't care less about these CCG investigator scenes。 。。。more
